えすたか カラミティジェーンが誕生するまでを美しい映像で描いた一作。
「ロング・ウェイ・ノース」でも印象的だった手に汗握るシーンが、舞台がアメリカであることも相まってかの追走劇が楽しい。不意にみせる白などのくっきりとした色彩が、鮮やかながらも彩度としては控えめな画面の中でハッと目をひいて美しいと思う。吹替版の主人公の声がかなりよかった。日本のアニメほど高くはなく、海外のアニメでたまにあるような驚くほど低い声でもなく、声色や演技にとても魅力を感じた。アドベンチャーとしてとても楽しい映画だった。
